It said smoke from the fires mixed with fog to create a “superfog.” Visibility was expected to improve as the fog lifted. The organizers stressed that the book fair should be a place of discourse and togetherness in times of crisis and instability, said Juergen Boos, President and CEO of the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Spain is this year's guest of honour. Around 200 authors and creatives from Spain will present their books at the fair, which ends on Sunday.
